PROJECT 1 - The Frozen Moment
EXERCISE 3.1
 |
| f 5,6 iso 400 1/100 70mm * 1,6 = 88 mm + triggered flash |
In order to obtain e perfectly frozen shot, I experimented the technique of "background flashing". The shutter speed of a camera can reach 1/8000, while the flash can arrive to 1/60000. So providing that if the light reaching the subject is obtained not only by the flash but by the ambient light as well, the subject will be blurred, I adopted low parameters in iso and shutter speed and low ambient light, so that the sensor was activated by anything else than the flash light. I put the radio-triggered flash behind a curtain and adopted f 5,6 aperture in order to blur the background. Camera was remote controlled by my left hand, while I was throwing an egg with my right hand, after not less than hundred tries, I got some shots close to what I aimed to.

EXERCISE 3.2
 |
f11 iso 100 4sec 70mm*1,6=88mm + 3 strobe flashes
Above I experimented the "strobing" technique, together with a slow shutter speed, so that I could, paradoxically, freeze the sense of movement.
For the three shots above I adopted the "Panning" technique, but I liked to pan the cyclists too. All three shots are f16 iso200 1/8 27mm*2=54mm
When I shot this picture, my aim was to give the sense of movement with panning, so I used f14 iso100 1/80 70mm*1,6=88mm.
